To close our research and exhibition project HISTORICAL CHILDREN: LULLABIES FROM WOUNDS TO WONDER, we cordially invite you and your kids, nephews and nieces, neighbours and grand parents for an Invocations programme with workshops, a theatre adaption of many generations, a reading session and singing together with a choir. Come all!
With this weekend of INVOCATIONS we also close the last chapter of our 15-month programme TRANSITIONS as we continue engaging with the reflections, questions and learnings gained throughout this journey. The collaboration with children, cultural practitioners and initiatives has been an attempt at activating the capacities of the imagination and agencies of a young mind in the absence of inhibitions, where it can continue to freely respond and react to stimulus and be equipped with multiple forms of expression. Through a series of open and closed workshops engaging diverse and specific communities of children we have continued with this effort every weekend of the exhibition duration. The last day of the exhibition becomes a moment to bring these synergies together and expand them further through a series of activations based on storytelling, form of theater and a symphony of intergenerational voices drawing upon oral traditions.
We started with the question of how we can nurture the aspirations and imaginations of the present and upcoming generations for a desired future? And with these activations we respond to it such that its reverberation makes it a lasting motto.
