We are honoured to host ulga at SAVVY: ulga is a growing series of gatherings exploring nourishment, memory, and resistance across diasporic, ecological, and embodied terrains. Rooted in the Polish word ulga – meaning relief, release, ease – the project offers a collective exhale: a space for restoration, storytelling, and embodied care.
After its first edition at Floating University Berlin, ulga continues this autumn with ulga x SAVVY Contemporary, a two-part program that unfolds through collective cooking, myth-making, somatic practices, and sound. These gatherings create a living space for communal care and invite different practices of listening, sharing, and reimagining forms of togetherness.
Day 1 — Wedding Affairs | ||
16:00–18:00 | A covenant of bread | Workshop with Pola Sutryk & Leo Baumgärtner |
Shaping, decorating and baking small celebratory breads (korowajczyki) as edible vows to shared futures. Participants bring their own ingredients, foraged elements, or memories to weave into a collective bread landscape.
18:00–20:00 | SHARED FEAST & ART OF HOSTING | With Meghna Singh |
A co-created meal and gentle ceremony that binds the workshop’s gestures of care into a collective table of stories and commitments.
20:00–22:00 | Sonic Offering | Back-to-back DJ sets by Hermeneia & daisy cutter |
In resonance with ulga’s explorations of care and collective listening, the evening closes with a dialogue of luminous rhythms and ambient-bass textures. Both Warsaw-based artists are deeply rooted in the city’s underground sound and community radio scenes.
Day 2 — Echoes of Care | ||
16:00–18:00 | Polyphonic Folklores | Workshop with Ignacy Rybka |
Storytelling and mapping our ancestral traces, inspired by migratory myths and shared memory.
18:30–20:00 | Sounding | With Otucha Collective |
Berlin-based FLINTA+ vocal ensemble (Mina Dordević, Agnieszka Kucharska, Dorota Michalak, Ola Zielińska) reworking Eastern European singing traditions, deep listening and somatic practices. “Otucha” in Polish means an act of care – to give courage and lift someone’s spirits.
20:00–21:00 | Ambient Hybrid Set | With Daniela Huerta |
A sound journey that drifts between myth and dream, weaving gentle electronic textures and live lullaby reading into a collective space of quiet restoration.
