Vocal Affairs

SAVVY  is delighted to team up with this year's Tanznacht festival. Vocal Affairs is curated by Mila Pavićević and Felicitas Zeeden. and takes place from 10.–14.09.2025. The feminist voice takes center stage as an artistic and political positioning within a deeply patriarchal society.

In times of multiple crises at regional, national, and international levels, it is essential to take a stance, to act, and to engage. Tanznacht is a festival by and for Berlin’s independent scene, which is stumbling in the face of devastating cuts to cultural funding: subsidies and project spaces for art are becoming scarce, making it increasingly difficult to produce artistic work or to plan seasonal and festival programmes in their full scope.

Instead of falling into the murky logic of competition or conflict over the few available resources, Tanznacht aims to bring together cultural workers and artists, as well as the teams of cultural institutions, their audiences, and local communities. The goal is to pool strengths, share resources, learn from each other, make collective use of time and space, and establish new, solidarity-based ways of working. Against this backdrop, this year’s edition of Tanznacht is collaborating and co-curating with local partner organizations from Wedding.
