Lullabies Archive

Do you have a song to fall asleep to? Did someone from your family or community sing to you when you were a child? Or do you have a song you sing to your children to help them to fall asleep? Is there a melody that you like to listen to to feel like home? Lullabies bring us back to the embrace of our loved ones, to an emotional space of intimacy. They carry our personal memories and the collective stories of our cultures. They connect us across generations and with others of our present that are scattered in many homes. An archive of these melodic memories not only collects them, but it is also alive, open, always growing, in construction and transformation. Re-membering is an action of the present.

This session invites people from all generations and backgrounds to recall and be part of the Lullabies Archive with songs for sleep that are dear to you. Come and sing, lull or hum in an intimate space that opens a portal of connection through remembrance.
