Sewing Studio

Welcome neighbours, friends, upcyclers to our Wednesday group – bring your fabrics and unfinished sewing projects! Do you have an abandoned textile project or a piece of clothing that you want to transform? Or maybe you dream of making a carpet and don't know how to start? Depending on your upcycling needs, we will learn together how to work on your textile projects. Join us in this ongoing self-made, learning-by-doing textile workshop resulting in an unpredictable piece, a work of art.

Helen Wongis a sewing workshop facilitator. Since 2016, she has collaborated with different self-organised sewing workshops, developing creative projects with various communities. Through the practice of different techniques, such as patchwork or upcycling, participants learn how to  preserve collective memories and celebrate diversity. Some of her projects are: Project Repair Lab Brand, Patchwork Techniken, Nähwerkstatt für Alle, Schillerwerkstatt e.V., Nähwerkstatt für geflüchtete, zugewanderte, in Berlin lebende Mädchen und Frauen, Projekt Kreativhaus e.V.
