The Congregation Sessions is a new four-part commission for SAVVYZΛΛR by sound artist and DJ Ain Bailey. Each session is building on the sonic biography workshops that Ain has facilitated since 2017. The question at the core: How has sound impacted your life? From the sound of the Muslim call to prayer, a fondly remembered song played during family car journeys or a dear relative preparing food. Bailey has extended an invitation to friends and comrades to explore an idea. Any idea. Contributions for “The Congregation Sessions” range from comradeship formed through cooking, BTS fandom and more. Contributors are also asked to share two songs that have particular relevance for them.
