SAVVYZΛΛR joins hands with Forplay Society and Articultural Society – SAVVY Kwata for a live radio session in the framework of the 6th Kochi Muziris Biennale Collateral: At the heart of the vibrant public program hosted by Forplay Society & Articultural Society in the framework of the 6th Kochi Muziris Biennale Collateral, together with their members and guests we reflect on various practices of being together, sharing knowledges, inviting play as a method of resistance and transformation. In the three-hour experimental radio broadcast we open up the liminal pathway between geographies, stories, time, practices and memories.

Forplay Society is a rehearsal for another way of being together. It is a space in flux, where the act of gathering is as important as what is made. We are here to hold space for questions, enquire and seek. Our interest lies in the texture of being together, in all its silence, contradiction, awkwardness, and disagreement. We understand play as a method to resist and to transform. Artists and projects will flow through this space, each one leading to another and creating a platform for spontaneous actions. Every few weeks expect different sets of artists to occupy the space through performances, installations, workshops and innovative ways of being together. Forplay Society is an invitation not to consume, but to contribute to a journey that keeps leading.
SAVVYZΛΛR is an experimental community radio and artistic platform based within the non-profit art space of SAVVY Contemporary in Berlin, Germany. It is a space negotiating and delinking from the ideologies, practices and continuities of the collective and entangled repercussions of the “colonial enterprise”. An invitation into where the body meets the voice, as they find their places in the airwaves. Sensing the physical in the virtual, visiting the public in the intimate and otherwise. We mark and re-mark questions, underlining them, to agree in unconformity, finding ourselves in the in-between, “[where] new cultural identities are formed, reformed, and constantly in a state of becoming", as Homi K. Bhabha exclaims.
Articultural Society / SAVVY Kwata is a co-operative society for artists and cultural workers from Kerala and beyond. It aims to organise artists and cultural workers into a decentralised, democratic, and interdependent network based on co-operative principles and community economics.
The logo of Articultural Society is inspired by Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s broad vision of revolution, symbolised aptly by “Gehun aur Gulab” (Wheat and Rose). This egalitarian version of revolution does not just fill bellies (wheat) but also proposes conditions to love, make art, and express oneself and our collective selves culturally. This vision of the revolution calls for not just full bellies but a full ‘“cultural awakening”. Articultural Society is a humble step in that direction. It emerges from many conversations, solidarities, and urgencies. It is an attempt to imagine a shared cultural ground shaped by cooperation rather than competition, by community rather than isolation.
