Whas does spatial awareness have to do with being a good neighbour? In this second contemplation, following On Proximity and Contested Spaces, Matthew reflects on the ordinary encounters of everyday life – shared sidewalks, bike lanes, queues and strangers – to explore attention, recognition and care as essentials of neighbouring. Can neighbourliness require us to hold different perspectives at once? Does neighbouring mean that we respect and tolerate each other? That we all stay in our lane?
