Frauen Machen Druck

Frauen machen Druck are a network that comes together to make lino and woodcuts. Around the table, they also engage in political action and support one another.

They welcome people who identify as women to join open, free workshops which are run on a voluntary basis and purchase materials with donations from participants.

The network has existed for over five years, and today brings together more than 200 people from diverse backgrounds. What unites them is the love of printmaking, the desire to be part of this community, and the commitment to feminisms.

Until now, these open workshops have taken place in Neukölln and Kreuzberg. The group believes it is time to decentralise them and bring them to other parts of the city, especially to areas with larger migrant populations, since most of us are migrants ourselves.

Alongside the Wednesday gatherings at Bona Peiser and the workshops every two weeks at Schokofabrik, both in Kreuzberg, they are planning to meet in Wedding. In November, the meetings will take place at SAVVY Contemporary. There they will continue with the same model of open, free and intersectional workshops developed so far.

They also want to activate public spaces through printmaking, creating interventions and inviting local residents to take part in printmaking activities, discover the process and enjoy the experience of making art collectively.
