This workshop invites participants to reflect on how colonial histories continue to inhabit everyday life through seemingly ordinary objects. Personal belongings become entry points into shared neighbourhood histories shaped by migration, displacement, trade and resistance. Rather than treating objects as museum artefacts, the workshop activates them as living witnesses of colonial entanglements in the present.
Through collective listening and gentle artistic reflection, Objects & Memory Lab creates a temporary counter-archive – not to preserve the past but to question how memory, belonging and colonial power circulate within the neighbourhood today.
Participants are invited to bring one personal object connected to their own or inherited histories.
