In light of the upcoming elections in the Philippines, ALPAS Pilipinas und SAVVY Contemporary cordially invite you to the screening of Kip Oebanda's film Liway.

The Philippine presidential and vice-presidential elections take place on May 9, 2022. Finally, the Duterte-Era finds an end but according to prognosese, loyal presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. leads the election polls by a wide margin. He is the son of former dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. who was ousted by the People Power Revolution in 1986. 

Liway is an autobiographical film by Kip Oebanda and deals with the experiences of a young boy named Dakip who grows up in prison because of his mother's engagements as an Anti-Marcos dissident. The activist Cecilia Flores-Oebanda is the filmmakers mother in real life.
